Consumer Affairs Victoria has charged Spencer William Porter for letting his businesses accept $1.3 million in payments for tiny home kits and failing to supply them in a reasonable time.
Porter, 25, of Clyde North, was the director of MyTinyHomeKit Pty Ltd and Property Magician Pty Ltd, which sold custom tiny home kits.
We allege Porter allowed his businesses to accept payment from 42 consumers for the kits from December 2021 to March 2024 and failed to supply them within a reasonable time, committing multiple offences under section 158 of the Australian Consumer Law.
The businesses have since gone into liquidation and the products have never been supplied.
The matter is listed for a filing hearing on 16 December 2024 at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court.
