Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV) has a broad remit. 

We are the Victorian regulator for:  

  • the Australian Consumer Law 
  • residential tenancies
  • a range of other industries and sectors.

Given the scope of our responsibilities, we must be clear on our key goals and strategically use our resources to deliver the greatest benefit to the Victorian community.  

Strategy

We set our strategic directions:

  • in line with the statement of expectations given to us by our Minister
  • considering a range of information and data, including from environmental scanning
  • with input from our stakeholders, partners and staff.

Our current strategic plan covers the period 2023-26 and links closely to our regulatory priorities.
