An unlicensed motor car trader who advertised 15 cars for sale online within a year has been ordered to pay a penalty of $7500.
Between 29 May 2010 and 10 May 2011, Nadem Polos, of Meadow Heights, offered to sell 15 different cars via separate advertisements on the website carsales.com.au.
Under the Motor Car Traders Act 1986, anyone who buys, sells or exchanges four or more cars in a 12-month period (or offers to do so, including if they do this as an agent for another), is deemed to be a motor car trader, and required to be licensed.
Melbourne Magistrates Court convicted Mr Polos and ordered him to pay a $7500 penalty, plus $760.25 costs.
