Action by Consumer Affairs Victoria has resulted in real estate agents Elma Veglia Bird and Just Property Management Vic Pty Ltd being declared permanently ineligible to hold a licence.
The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) imposed the disciplinary penalties after the discovery of a deficiency in the Just Property Management Vic Pty Ltd (JPM) trust account.
William John Hussen, an agents representative employed by JPM, was declared ineligible to hold a licence for seven years and ineligible to act as an agent’s representative for five years.
VCAT ordered Mr Hussen to pay a penalty of $5000 to the Victorian Property Fund.
Mr Hussen also gave an undertaking not to participate in the estate agency businesses of Pakington Central Pty Ltd and Newport Petroleum Pty Ltd for five years.
