The Director of Consumer Affairs Victoria has started criminal action against Helen Sly and Ranelagh Realty Pty Ltd (Ranelagh) (ACN: 107 919 166) – trading as Bay Life Properties - for alleged breaches of Victorian estate agent laws.
It is alleged that Ms Sly, 66, of Mount Eliza, and Ranelagh misused $77,500 that was meant to be held in a trust account, fraudulently converting it for their own use.
The alleged offending took place between November 2017 and February 2018, and related to interactions with one consumer.
The matter will be heard at the Frankston Magistrates’ Court at a date to be fixed.
Ms Sly’s and the company’s estate agent licences were cancelled in October 2018.
